Yates Scholarship Program
The Yates Scholarship Program provides college grants to employees and their dependents at GSGA Member Clubs. Named for Charles, Dan and Danny Yates of Atlanta, all of whom have contributed greatly to the game of golf, the scholarships are based on financial need, character, academic achievement and work experience at a GSGA Member Club. During the 2024-25 school year, the program will support 68 Yates Scholars with grants totaling $322,800.
Yates Scholarship ApplicationThe Yates Scholarships are eligible for renewal. The GSGA Member Club through which each scholar was eligible for the Yates Scholarship Program must remain a Member Club of the GSGA in order for a scholarship to be renewed. Now in its 37th year, the Yates program has supported more than 400 scholars. GSGA Member Club employees and their dependents are eligible to apply.
The following items are necessary before an application will be considered:

Completed Yates Scholarship application, including two essays

Required academic information

Two letters of recommendation from supervisors at the GSGA Member Club(s) where applicant and/or parent is employed
Required Academic Information:
For incoming freshman:
- High school transcript of grades through first semester senior year
- Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or American College Testing (ACT) scores
- One letter of recommendation from teacher, counselor or other school administrator; the letter must be returned to the applicant signed and include a school phone number and email
For current college freshman:
- College transcript (showing a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5)
For college sophomores and juniors:
- College transcript (showing a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0)
Deadline for the 2024-25 school year is March 1, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. All information must be received on or before the deadline to be considered. All applications will be formally reviewed and you will be notified if a personal interview is necessary. Photographs are not allowed to be submitted with the application. All documents, including transcripts, should be opened and attached to the application. Applications must be submitted as one complete package.
