Congratulations to Morgan Ellison of Peachtree City on helping her team capture the 11th U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball Championship on May 2-6 at Daniel Island Club in Charleston, South Carolina!

Ellison and her partner, Katie Scheck of Tennessee, defeated Grace Carter and Alexandra Snyder of Florida in 19 holes to claim their first USGA title in their first USGA Championship appearance.

The side began Wednesday finishing their quarterfinals match with a quick birdie on what was the 21st hole of the match to advance to the semifinals. They followed by rallying from an early 2-down deficit to earn a 2-and-1 victory over Haley Davis and Katelyn Huber of Florida to head to the championship match.

Carter and Snyder held an early 1-up advantage, but Ellison and Scheck would win No. 9 and No. 10 to flip momentum. After the match was tied on the par-4 13th by Carter and Snyder, Ellison stuck her approach on the par-3 15th to 6-feet to regain control. Snyder would go on to make a birdie on the par-4 17th before both sides tied the final hole to head to extra holes.

Both sides would have birdie looks on the 19th hole (par-4 1st) and Ellison stepped up to drain her 12-footer first to put all the pressure on Carter to extend the match. The Floridian was unable to convert, giving Ellison and Scheck the dramatic victory.

For Ellison, she becomes the fourth Georgian to hoist the U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball trophy joining Rinko Mitsunaga of Roswell (2015), Thienna Huynh of Lilburn (2022) and Sara Im of Duluth (2022). Ellison is the reigning GSGA Women's Player of the Year, while Scheck played her final three years of collegiate golf at Mercer University and is a high school graduate and state champion at Lake Oconee Academy in Greensboro.

Ellison's victory also marks the 5th-straight year a Georgian has captured a USGA title following Rusty Strawn of Eatonton (2022 U.S. Senior Amateur), Sarah Gallagher of Canton (2023 U.S. Senior Women's Amateur), Louis Brown of Marietta (2024 U.S. Senior Amateur), Hamilton Coleman of Augusta (2025 U.S. Junior) and Mason Howell of Thomasville (2025 U.S. Amateur).

Ellison and Scheck, who became the oldest winners of the championship at 23 years old, receive a 10-year exemption into the U.S. Women's Amateur Four-ball provided the side remains intact and are now both exempt into the 2026 U.S. Women's Amateur at The Honors Course in Ooltewah, Tennessee.
