It was an incredible year on the course in 2025 and for seven players it culminated with a GSGA Player of the Year honor.
Nate Gahman of Albany captured his second GSGA Men's Player of the Year (2023) behind great performances in the Peach State and nationally:
- Georgia Open Champion
- Advanced to Rd. of 64 at U.S. Amateur at The Olympic Club
- Top 10 finishes at Georgia Mid-Amateur (T3) and Georgia Four-Ball (T8)
- T23 finish at Georgia Amateur
We caught up with Nate to get his thoughts on his 2025 campaign and learn more about him on and off the course!
What did earning your GSGA Player of the Year honor mean to you?
GAHMAN: "Being honored with that award is something that I don’t take lightly. I am incredibly grateful for all GSGA has done for me over the years. To be on the same list as some of the all-time 'Georgia greats' is pretty surreal."
What was your favorite golf memory from 2025? And why?
G: "My favorite memory would have to be my win at the Palmetto Amateur at Palmetto Golf Club. More specifically, the 50-foot putt I made on the 71st hole to hold on to my one shot lead. It was a special week that I will always remember. However, making match play at The Olympic Club in the U.S. Amateur was a very close second."
What are your early goals for 2026 you hope to accomplish?
G: "My primary goal for the year is to bring glory to God and to remove my joy from my results. It is easy to get burned out on the game if you take it too seriously! That being said, my tangible goals would be compete in U.S. Am and U.S. Mid Am. I would also like to get back in the GSGA winners circle whether that be the Georgia Mid-Am or the Georgia Am."
How many holes-in-one do you have: "3."
Lowest round you’ve shot in a competition and in what event: "64 at 2022 Georgia Mid Am."
