SEA ISLAND - Behind an exceptional 4-under 68 in the final round, Evan Rogers of Duluth came out on top at the Georgia Amateur Championship! The 105th playing of the prestigious championship took place June 11-14 at Ocean Forest Golf Club.

Rogers (69-69-72-68) began the championship with back-to-back rounds of 3-under par 69 to take a three-shot advantage at the halfway mark. A weather delay pushed the conclusion of the third round into Sunday morning where Rogers completed an even par 72 to take a four-shot advantage over Carter Loflin of Duluth (72-71-71-72).

It was a rocky start for Rogers as he dropped a shot on the par-4 first after finding water on his opening tee shot. He didn't panic and stayed steady making par on his next eight holes and led by two with nine holes remaining.

Loflin, playing in the group ahead of Rogers, knocked in a birdie on the par-5 10th to close the gap to one. Rogers, who narrowly missed multiple birdie putts on his front nine, finally found a rhythm.

The soon-to-be college sophomore at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga caught fire immediately on the back nine knocking in a length eagle putt on the par-5 10th and followed it with birdies on the par-4 12th and the par-5 14th to take a commanding lead.

Rogers continued his strong play making easy pars on the next three holes and ended his dominant performance in style with birdie on the par-4 18th to finish at 10-under and win by eight shots over Loflin. The margin of victory was the largest at the Georgia Amateur since 2009 when Russell Henley also won by eight shots on his way to his second Georgia Amateur title.

Along with getting his name etched on the Robert H. Martin Trophy alongside several Georgia Golf Hall of Famers and current PGA professionals, the 19-year-old also earned exemptions into the 2026 U.S. Amateur later this summer at Merion Golf Club, the 2026 Southern Amateur at Atlanta Athletic Club and the 2027 Jones Cup Invitational at Ocean Forest.

Rounding out the top five were Bodie Brumlow of Cartersville (76-72-71-68), Bear Dollander of Savannah (74-73-72-69) and Harris Barth of Atlanta (75-72-68-74), the 2021 Georgia Amateur champion.
