Dick Franklin Performance Award
The Dick Franklin Performance Award recognizes performance both in and out of the classroom. and is given to the Most Outstanding Rising Junior and Most Outstanding Rising Junior.
Dick Franklin was a passionate and dedicated volunteer who passed away suddenly in 2005 while he was serving as President of the GSGA Foundation and on the Executive Committee of the Georgia State Golf Association. These awards honor Dick Franklin’s legacy while recognizing current Yates Scholars with outstanding performance both in and out of the classroom.
Applications for the Dick Franklin Performance Award are reviewed and voted on by a Yates Scholarship sub-committee each year and are announced in June.
- Applicants must be full-time students with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 to be considered.
- Rising juniors must have at least 60 hours and rising seniors must have at least 90 hours achieved in the most recent spring semester to be considered.
Two awards are presented each year: one for the Most Outstanding Rising Junior and another for the Most Outstanding Rising Senior.
Winners are awarded additional scholarship funds above and beyond their Yates Scholarship.
