
Brian Johnston of Peachtree Corners won the 2018 Georgia Super Senior Championship. The seventh edition of this event took place at The Savannah Golf Club, April 10-13.
He defeated Al Small of Savannah (2 and 1) in the final match. Johnston advanced to the finals with wins over Thomas Hiller of Fortson (3 and 2) in the round of 16, and Frank Costanzo of Savannah (4 and 3). He outlasted Bill Blalock of Atlanta (20 holes) in the semifinals on Friday morning. Johnston earned the number three seed in the bracket after stroke play qualifying.
Entries were open to male amateur golfers. The Senior division was open to those age 55 and older as of April 10, and the Super Senior division was open to those age 65 and older as of April 10. The format is Match play preceded by 36-holes of stroke play qualifying. The low 16 players will advance to match play in both divisions.
