Please find below a summary of changes caused by the COVID-19 pandemic regarding the 2020 GSGA Junior Tour competitions season.

2020 GSGA JUNIOR TOUR PROGRAM FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  1. Where can I find a new listing of revised, modified or canceled GSGA Junior Tour competitions?
    • ​​Updates to the tournament schedule will be made as soon as they are available. Click here for a 2020 Revised Schedule.
  2. What will GSGA Junior Tour events look like this year?
    • The highest priority for the GSGA is the health, safety and well-being of all players, spectators, GSGA staff, GSGA volunteers and everyone at our host facilities who offer their golf course for our events. Click here for an updated list of Policies and Procedures for all Junior Tour events. Until further notice, these policies and procedures will be in effect.
  3. What is the Refund Policy for withdrawals this year?
    • ​For the remainder of 2020, a player may request a FULL refund for a withdrawal up until their starting time on the first day of competitions for ANY reason. After the player's starting time has passed on the first day of competition, refunds will not be granted.
  4. Is GSGA Junior Tour event registration available?
    • ​​Event registration for GSGA Junior Tour members is currently available. Registration for non-members will be available on May 20. As a reminder, non-members may compete in a maximum of TWO Summer Series events and are NOT eligible for Regional Qualifiers or season-ending championships.
  5. Will tournament registration/cancellation deadlines be adjusted?
    • ​​To assist with administrative preparation for events, registration deadlines will remain intact and adjusted only if an event has been rescheduled. For most events on the summer schedule, the registration deadline will continue to be the Thursday prior to event date at midnight.
    • For similar reasons, cancellation deadlines will also remain intact and adjusted only if an event has been rescheduled. The cancellation deadline will continue to coincide with the registration deadline, and a player may withdraw from an event in his/her Players Club Account up until the deadline and receive a full refund. After the cancellation deadline, the player may contact the GSGA Junior Tour office to request a full refund up until his/her starting time on the first day of competition.
  6. Will spectator carts be available at events?
    • When made available by a host facility, spectator carts will still be permissible to purchase at GSGA Junior Tour competitions. This is subject to change at any point leading up to an event and may vary by event due to several factors. More information about spectator carts and any modified policies and procedures pertaining to their use will be communicated to you in early June prior to the resumption of activities.
  7. When will the GSGA Junior Tour Fall Series schedule be available?
    • ​​The Fall Series schedule will be released as soon as it is complete and registration for Fall Series events will be available soon thereafter. The Fall Series will begin in early August to provide additional playing opportunities for events that were lost or significantly modified due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

2020 GSGA JUNIOR TOUR SCHEDULE - REVISIONS & EVENT MODIFICATIONS
 

GSGA JUNIOR TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP
July 22-24
The Frog Golf Club, Villa Rica

 

 

  • The championship will remain as scheduled, July 22-24, at The Frog Golf Club in Villa Rica.
  • Field size will be reduced to 120 players.
  • Entry criteria are as follows (subject to change):
    1. ​Juniors must compete in at least three (3) ranked tournaments.
      • ​​Ranked tournaments include Summer Series single-day events, Regional Qualifiers and MAADA Series multi-day events.
    2. Reigning Junior Tour Champions, who are current-year members of the GSGA Junior Tour, will receive an exemption into the 2020 GSGA Junior Tour Championship.
    3. Juniors may gain entry one of the following ways:
  • Spectator cart rentals will be restricted to only those individuals with valid ADA certification that can be presented, and quantities will be limited each day.

 

GSGA JUNIOR TOUR 9-HOLE CHAMPIONSHIP
July 14-15
Chateau Elan Golf Club (Chateau Course), Braselton

 

 

  • The championship will remain as scheduled, July 14-15, at Chateau Elan Golf Club (Chateau Course) in Braselton.
  • Entry criteria are as follows (subject to change):
    1. ​​Juniors must compete in at least three (3) ranked tournaments.
      • ​​Ranked tournaments include Summer Series single-day events.
    2. Juniors may gain entry by receiving an invitation based upon weekly GSGA Junior Tour Rankings. Invitations will be sent weekly beginning June 26, 2020.

 

REGIONAL QUALIFIER - BENT TREE COUNTRY CLUB
June 24-25
Bent Tree Country Club, Jasper

 

 

  • Rescheduled to June 24-25.
  • Registration deadline is June 18 at midnight.
  • If a player had previously registered for the event, you do not need to re-register. Your entry will be transferred to the new event.
  • If you had previously registered for the event, but now need to withdraw for any reason, a full refund will be granted. You may cancel within your Players Club Account up until June 18 at midnight or contact the GSGA Junior Tour office.
  • Junior Golf Scoreboard - Advanced Divisions in which five (5) or more players complete at least 36 holes will continue to be ranked on Junior Golf Scoreboard (subject to change per Junior Golf Scoreboard updates).

 

MAADA SERIES - GREEN ISLAND COUNTRY CLUB
June 29-30
Green Island Country Club, Columbus

 

 

  • Rescheduled to June 29-30.
  • Field size will be reduced to 48 players.
  • Registration deadline is June 25 at midnight.
  • If a player had previously registered for the event, you do not need to re-register. Your entry will be transferred to the new event.
  • If you had previously registered for the event, but now need to withdraw for any reason, a full refund will be granted. You may cancel within your Players Club Account up until June 25 at midnight or contact the GSGA Junior Tour office.
  • The top finisher in the Boys Division will receive an exemption into the 2021 Georgia Junior Championship. 
  • AJGA PBE Status - Performance stars will continue to be allocated as outlined on the tournament website (subject to change per AJGA updates).
  • Junior Golf Scoreboard - Player fields in which five (5) or more players complete at least 36 holes will continue to be ranked on Junior Golf Scoreboard (subject to change per Junior Golf Scoreboard updates).

 

GSGA JUNIOR SKILLS CHALLENGE CHAMPIONSHIP
Monday, September 7
East Lake Golf Club, Atlanta

 

 

  • Rescheduled to Monday, September 7.
  • This event will still be held prior to the final round of the TOUR Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta.
  • The following updates have been made for the Skills Challenge Series (subject to change):
    • ​A junior's age as of September 7, 2020, will determine which age division the junior will compete in for the calendar year.
    • The Series has been reduced to six (6) total qualifiers with the junior who accumulates the most points in their respective division at the end of each qualifier automatically advancing to the GSGA Junior Skills Challenge Championship.
    • The top-four juniors in their respective divisions who have accumulated the most points throughout the year-long Skills Challenge Series will also gain entry to the GSGA Junior Skills Challenge Championship.
  • Invitations will be sent as soon as logistical details are finalized with the TOUR Championship, most likely in mid-August.

 

SKILLS CHALLENGE SERIES QUALIFIER - HIGHLAND COUNTRY CLUB
August 8
Highland Country Club, LaGrange

 

 

  • Rescheduled to August 8.
  • Registration deadline is August 5 at midnight.
  • If a player had previously registered for the event, you do not need to re-register. Your entry will be transferred to the new event.
  • If you had previously registered for the event, but now need to withdraw for any reason, a full refund will be granted. You may cancel within your Players Club Account up until August 5 at midnight or contact the GSGA Junior Tour office.

 

Summer Series Single-Day Events - Rescheduled

 

Summer Series Single-Day Events – Canceled 

  • The following Summer Series events have been canceled: 
    • Atlanta Athletic Club - Par 3 Course, Johns Creek (Beginner)
    • Druid Hills Golf Club, Atlanta
    • River Forest Golf Club, Forsyth
    • Valdosta Country Club
  • If a player had previously registered for an event, you do not need to withdraw online. Your entry will be canceled, and a full refund issued to your method of purchase.

The Georgia State Golf Association (GSGA) is the governing body of golf in Georgia and serves as an Allied Golf Association to the United States Golf Association (USGA).
