ATHENS - Behind a stellar 5-under 67 in the final round, Kylie Chung of Cumming came out on top at the Georgia Women's Amateur Championship! The 97th playing of the prestigious championship took place June 1-3 at Athens Country Club.

Chung, who finished at 6-under overall, entered the day five shots back of the lead held by Mary Miller of Savannah at 1-under (73-70). It was a roller coaster opening front nine for Chung as she made three bogeys, including to open the final round on the par-4 1st, but she countered with four birdies to get to 2-under overall.

The soon-to-be high school freshman steadied herself after the front nine and quickly birdied the par-5 10th, but still sat four shots back of Miller at the time.

Five-straight pars followed before Chung caught fire and quickly closed the gap between her and the lead with birdies on the par-5 16th and par-3 17th.

Not knowing she was about to be tied for the lead, Chung believed she needed birdie on the par-4 18th to have a chance. Chung hit her approach to approximately 10 feet and calmly drained the putt. To her surprise, the birdie actually put her atop the leaderboard with one group left on the course. Miller was unable to convert her birdie opportunity to extend the championship giving Chung the well-earned victory.

Along with getting her name etched on the Eleanor M. Keeler Memorial Trophy alongside several Georgia Golf Hall of Famers and current LPGA professionals, the 14-year-old also earned exemptions into the 2026 U.S. Women's Amateur later this summer at The Honors Course in Tennessee and the 2027 Sea Island Women's Amateur.

Miller (70-68-74) and Ava Merrill of Johns Creek (67-72-73), the 2025 Georgia Women's Amateur champion, finished in a tie for second at 4-under, while Zoe Duval of Cumming (75-72-69) and Haven Ward of Atlanta (72-72-73) rounded out the top five, respectively.
