“To encourage young girls to learn the game of golf; to foster developmental opportunities, and to increase both competitive and non-competitive playing opportunities for girls in Georgia.”
The GSGA Girls Program was first started in 1989 with the intent of providing girls opportunities to enjoy the game of golf regardless of their playing ability. Several of the early activities included instructional clinics and activities with non-competitive games.
The program was reintroduced at the start of 2005, forming a committee representing each section of the state. The program continues to focus on providing both educational and instructional programs for girls 17 and under. The program offers an event schedule for the more advanced golfer that includes the Girls' Championship, GA/SC Girls' Challenge Match and the Junior Sectional Program.
Just getting started in golf? The program promotes and hosts a number of instructional clinics throughout the year. A complete list of these events is listed below and will continue to be updated as the year progresses.
If you would like more information on the program or to add your junior girl golfer to the mailing list please visit the E-Links page and fill out the form under the "Junior Event Notices" section.
