Format and Schedule
A qualifier for the 2010 U.S. Amateur Championship will be conducted by the Georgia State Golf Association on Tuesday, July 27 and Wednesday, July 28. Piedmont Driving Club in Atlanta hosts 144 players competing over 36 holes for six qualifying spots and two alternate positions in the Championship. After 18 holes of play on Tuesday, the field will be cut to the low 44 scores and ties, and all players within eight strokes of the leader.

Piedmont Driving Club is hosting the first of two U.S. Amateur qualifiers in Georgia.  The second takes place August 9-10 at Achasta Golf Club in Dahlonega.

Piedmont Driving Club is one of 99 qualifying sites nationwide taking place from July 19-August 10.

Directions to Piedmont Driving Club – I-285 to Exit 2/Camp Creek Parkway. Turn west, go 2.5 miles to the club.

Piedmont Driving Club will play to 7,028 yards and a par of 71.

U.S. Amateur Championship
The 110th annual U.S. Amateur Championship will be held at Chambers Bay in University Place, Wash., August 23-29 with a starting field of 312 players.  Entries were open to amateur golfers who have a USGA Handicap Index not exceeding 2.4.  The U.S. Amateur is one of 13 national championships conducted annually by the United States Golf Association.
